Worshipful Master

Greetings,

At the Stated Meeting our Inspector Roy Pool informed us that we are changing our Masonic District (again).  We will now be part of a new Masonic District, and our new Inspector is Worshipful Bob Udoff.  Worshipful Roy Pool did a lot this year to help the Lodge, and we will miss his positive guidance.  Thanks Roy. We know that Worshipful Bob will help us as much as Worshipful Roy did.

Speaking of great things, we recently raised 5 new Master Masons in September.  Please join me in welcoming our newly raised Brother James Wong, Brother Andrew Macias, Brother Paul Pantages, Brother Earl Douglas, and Brother Brian Wittig to our Lodge.  A lot of good members stepped up to help put on the degrees.   Thanks all of you who helped out and those that attended the degrees.

We also Inititated 4 new Entered Apprentice Masons in September – Brother Matt Malouf, Brother Joe Liang, Brother Paulo Amaral, and Brother Joaquim de Almeida.  I want to thank those that helped put on the degrees, especially those Past Masters (Worshipful’s Steve Zastoupil, Mike Winford, Frank Beckman, Warren Gustafson, Gayle Richmond, Bill Sizemore, and Frank Gillespie and Brothers Andrew Macias, Paul Pantages, Cliff Zastoupi) who stepped in to fill holes in the degree team.

My thanks to Frank and Mary Jo Gillespie, Gil and Peggie Buck, Bill and Bonnie Booth, Gayle Richmond, Dave and Fran Swanston, and many others for helping to put on a great Masonic Family Picnic.  We had guests from the DeMolay, Job’s Daughters, Rainbow Girls, Emerald Star Chapter of the Eastern Star, and members of the Montebello-Whittier Lodge.  The food was great, the turnout was great, and everyone had a spectacular time.

When you get this the Annual Barbeque will be over.  I want to thank Worshipful Gil Buck for spearheading this great effort.  It is nice to have the Barbeque back, and my thanks to all those that helped out.  The money raised by the Barbeque goes into the Scholarship fund. Speaking of which, the Scholarship Committee just finished preparing the guidelines for the Joe Gonzales Memorial Scholarship.  The information is being sent out to the area High Schools and is available on the lodge website (www.GTNmasoniclodge.com).  We plan on giving out three scholarships from your Lodge to youth in our community this year

My thanks to Worshipful Bill Sizemore for putting on such a wonderful Constitutional Observance Event on September 24, 2009.  The meal was delicious and the George Washington reenactor was inspiring.  I hope you didn’t miss this, it was really great.
