Worshipful Master

My Masonic Family Members,

The year continues to be fantastic in the Lodge.  We are really busy with events and doing good work.  Additionally, your Lodge keeps growing, with more applications coming in almost every month.

As you read this, your Lodge Officers just completed the First Degree Initiation of  Brother Andrew Macias.  My thanks to the Officers, you all did a great job and you are all get representatives of our Lodge.

As you also read this the Annual Superbowl Party when off without a hitch.  There was lots of Fellowship, a lot of fun, and we exposed some new young men to this Fraternity we all love.  I wanted to thank all those that attended – specially my wife Janet, Brother Schrekengast and his wife Ruth and his guests, Brother Booth and his wife Bonnie, Brother Gladstone, Brother De Luca and wife Kimberly and his guests, Brother James Wong with his fiancé Janae and his guests, Brother Giuliano Mirabella (Happy Birthday Giulio), Brother Larry Carr, Brother Ben Carr, our Lodge Sweetheart Diane Sickles, and everyone else that showed up,  Again,  it was a great game and it was great fun.

I am proud to announce that Brother Harry (Ben) Benezette was selected by committee to be the Hiram Award recipient from our Lodge this year.  Brother Benezette has been a Master Mason in our Lodge for almost 61 years (next month makes it 61 years), rarely misses a Stated Meeting, and is a solid figure of what a Freemason should be.  Brother Benezette has been active in the Lodge for a very long time and it means a lot for a Lodge to have consistent, supportive, and active members like Brother Benezette. For me personally, it always comforting to have our long-time Brethren like Brother Ben in the Lodge – it shows that we must be doing something right. Congratulations to Brother Benezette for being honored with the Hiram Award.

Speaking of long time members of the Lodge.  We are looking for information on two of our members.  Please contact me if you have any information on Brother John L. White and/or Brother Kenneth R. Jackson.  Some how the contact information for these two Brothers has gotten misplaced.

Finally, I am pleased to announce that the Golden Trowel Norwalk Lodge has a new website up and running.  Please keep in mind that this is a continual work in progress.  The website is:  GTNmasoniclodge.com.  I encourage you to visit the site and see our voluntary efforts in progress.  My thanks to Worshipful Larry Williams and Brother Stephen Hall for their generous efforts.  I see this as another giant positive step forward for our Lodge.    Gary Iverson - Master

Brethren,

I would like to congratulate our newest member, Brother Andrew Macias on his First Degree and welcome him to our Lodge.

We are also trying to work on a Mentors program with our new members to help them be more comfortable in the Lodge at functions:  anyone interested can get in touch with us.

M.A.S.O.N.S Rally is an article written monthly and is to inform the brethren about the VA hospital in Long Beach and is defined as Many Americans Saved Our Nations Sovereignty.  They have several programs in the works form a golf tournament, classic car show, motorcycle ride, BBQ, and visitation of patients.  Brother Ron Maxwell at (714) 317-9452 is the contact and has been appointed the MASONS representative by the Grand Master of California.

Fraternally,  Bill Booth – Senior Warden

YOUTH ORDERS MONTH

By proclamation, Grand Master Larry L. Adamson has identified that May 2009 is to be recognized as Youth Orders Month.  The proclamation was read during our February Stated Meeting, and outlined the importance of our Youth Orders to our fraternity.

Be assured, my Brothers, that our Golden Trowel Norwalk Lodge considers ourselves blessed to have all three Masonic Youth Orders at our Lodge.  This year your Lodge the Master has sent personal representatives to each group, we continue to provide facilities for each group to meet, continue to support each group financially, and invite groups to Lodge functions.  Please join us at the March Stated Meeting where we will recognize the importance of , and again contribute to, our Masonic Youth Orders.
