Salutations,
Well the
Mystery is over…the Mystery Trip that is!!! The Mystery Trip turned
out to be a visit to the beautiful village of Solvang. 35 brave souls
headed out for a beautiful day for shopping, eating, and just enjoying
themselves. Everyone had a great time, and I wanted to thank those
that went with me. My thanks also to Brother Frank Gillespie and his
lovely wife Mary Jo for helping me arrange this trip (and keeping the
location secret). If you missed this trip, you missed a lot of fun
and Fellowship!!!!
There is
a lot more going on in your Lodge. The 125th Anniversary
Celebration was a huge hit. The Most Worshipful Larry Adamson, Grand
Master of Masons in California was very pleased. This event
demonstrated that the Golden Trowel Norwalk Lodge is a “class act”,
and I couldn’t have been happier at the way it turned out. I want to
thanks all those that helped put on this event, especially the 125th
Anniversary Committee (Brothers Frank Gillespie, Dave Swanston III,
Lowell Nichols, Warren Gustafson, Bill Mayo, and Ken McCoy). Thanks
also to the Hall Association for their work to make the Lodge look so
great. Again, the event couldn’t have been better.
We had
numerous Second Degrees in May. Brother James Wong and Brother Andrew
Macias were passed on May 7. Brother Earl Douglas and Brother Brian
Wittig were passed on May 21. My thanks to the Officers and those
that stood in as part of the degree team. Excellent work was done by
all.
Our
annual visit to the Covina Masonic Home is fast approaching (May 30
starting at 10:30AM). We will again serve up some of the best grub
around. Please come out, enjoy the beautiful Covina Masonic Home
facility, and visit with the residents of the home. This is always an
enjoyable day, and I would like to see all of you there.
Just a
reminder that the St. John’s Day Breakfast will be held on June 14,
2009. This is a day which Masons set aside to reflect upon the Holy
Sts. John and their meaning to Masonry. Remember to call in to the
Lodge with your reservations (and remember to press #5 to leave your
information). Reservations need to be placed before June 8. I look
forward to seeing all of you there.
Finally,
I want to encourage all of you to attend the Lodge Management
Certification Classes put on by Grand Lodge. On June 6, the classes
will be held in Pasadena. Please visit the Grand Lodge website for
more information at www.freemason.org.
